How to Guide - Connecting Your Laptop to HDTV Or TV

I am writing this guide after he asked to join a couple of times about the possibilities for a laptop to a TV. People want to achieve for several reasons. First, it's great for presentations at work, school or home. It is also convenient for the display of images and videos with friends, watch DVDs, and it is now available for viewing Blu-ray and other high-definition content used in HDTV.

First, we want to make sure you get the most out of your laptop when it comes toDisplay on the TV.

If you have an HDTV with HDMI input, check whether your laptop has an HDMI output. If so, you're lucky, your HDTV can display from your laptop with HD resolutions. All you need is to connect an HDMI cable. If your HDTV HDMI inputs are used up already in place. A HDMI switch would be the best solution for you. We supply switches, in order to invite up to 5 different sources to 1 HDMI is HDMI input.
If you do not have an HDMI output on the Check laptop, whether it has a DVI output. Some ASUS and Dell laptops have them. If you do this, you can connect your laptop to an HDTV with an HDMI to DVI cable. They are both digital and cables so that is the same as HD resolutions produce standard HDMI cable.
If your laptop does not have HDMI or DVI output, it should be a VGA output. With VGA port is capable of high resolutions. However, support multiple TVs with different resolutions VGA. You need the maximum resolution of your> TV model supports VGA.
Virtually all laptops with an S-video output to come. It will not be as big of a picture, but it will certainly not work with an S-Video cable.

Once you have your choice of cable, restart your laptop plugged in and see if it recognized your TV. If not, you must go into your display properties and look for the settings that will allow your TV, your laptop screen. Where the setting is depending on the tours and accommodationsGraphics card (only) look. If you have problems, you get a TV show image, make sure that the display updated drivers to your laptop. Now you are probably want to sound from something other than your laptop speakers. You can choose to output it to your TV or explosion from your home theater audio receiver.

The best way to connect audio to your TV or receiver is through a digital audio cable. Both a digital coaxial cable or Toslinkoptical audio cable works well for crisp audio quality. To make sure your laptop has either a coaxial or optical digital audio output. Some laptops use the headphone jack that) as a digital coaxial dual (S / PDIF output. If you need to use this method, you go on a 3.5-mm-to-RCA adapter with a digital coaxial cable. If your laptop has none of these results, and you still really want that high quality sound. Do not worry! You can always still an external (USB) sound card is that the digitalcoaxial out or optical out. I recommend the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 SB1090 with Toslink Optical Audio output.
Another possibility, which will not require add-ons, is the headphone jack (3.5 mm) jack on your laptop with the use of RCA (red and white) inputs on your TV or receiver. To do this, is all you need a 3.5mm to 2 RCA Adapter with 2 RCA audio cable.

I know all of these cables may seem confusing to you. If you find problems, are what every cable, or what is underFind out more about a cable, check out the Cable Guide on CableTrain.com. All these cables are available on our website as well. I hope you can now successfully be connected to your laptop to the TV in the best way!

LCD Flat Screen TV - Are 120Hz LCD Flat Screen TVs Worth The Extra Money?

If you have a look at my LCD flat screen TV, no doubt you have about the 120Hz models read. You are probably wondering whether the models with a value of 120 Hz, the costs are. The value of the 120 Hz feature was discussed heavily in recent months. There are a number of things to consider before the decision.

In the early days of LCD or plasma TV wars, one of the biggest disadvantages of buying a LCD TV was that they tended to moveBlur, and a slightly jerky picture, especially in times when there was a lot of fast action like sports or movie scenes like car chases. Although it handle a big improvement over the years, television in the ability to fast movements, so LCD is still fighting the stigma of not having as smooth a picture as plasmas.

Enter the 120Hz TV. Have as an immediate response, integrated 120Hz LCD TV manufacturers in its latest TV models. These TVs haveRefresh rates that twice as fast as the "standard" 60Hz models.

Those who are followers of the 120Hz technology argue that the image is noticeably smoother with crystal clarity, especially in fast action scenes or sports. Another advantage is the ability to produce an almost 3D image.

On the other hand, others say that they can see no difference when comparing side to side with the "standard" 60Hz models. You have the feeling that the 120 Hz models are simpleHigher prices to sell gimmicks tv.

So who is right? As usual, there is a middle ground. Simply put, a 120Hz TV is easy to replicate a standard 60Hz signal and twice for what is little improvement to image quality. The real difference is when the use of a video processing function for motion enhancement. Each company has its own name for this process. For example, Samsung Electronics is feature called AMP for Automotion Plus. This function takesthe screen, and interpolates the image to a smoother picture, to be able to reduce stuttering.

If the movement is a further improvement satisfactory picture? This is also not yet decided. Motion improvement at its best offers a noticeably smoother, more stable image, free from Jutter, motion blur and ghosting. Some describe 120Hz games in that they have a 30 frames per second, like a game with 60 frames per second game, while others are looking to live on the ability to sports and movies fascinatedand 3D-like.

In the worst case, movement can be divided accessories designed to introduce a fast moving disturbance distracted in the second image as artifacts that may be obvious. Others feel that, while kind of documentary showing how stable Planet Earth breathtaking live-action shots may provide that the motion is carried away by the improvement of the films with a cinematic feel almost too realistic, live TV or soap opera rather than a cinematic experience .

It is important tosuggest that movement enhancements may be turned on or off, so if you are a film without the motion enhancement, you can simply switch it on, you want to see.

At the time of the election, with a 120 Hz LCD flat screen TV to go, is a purely personal choice and budget. Note that it is a very new technology and as with all new technologies there are still some things that are to be completed. There is little debate that 120Hz is the wave of the future and that the technologywill only improve over time. If the course is not the primary concern or when the additional dollars can in an attempt to future proof your TV then buy it seems appropriate to perfect, with the additional features and advantages of a 120-Hz LCD flat-screen TVs offer may go to spare. If price is a primary factor, and you work on a limited budget then a standard model would be a good choice to be perfected, the 120-Hz models.

LCD TV Or Plasma TV Picture Trouble? What Causes Solarization and Picture Problems? How to Fix It

Solarization.

It is a much common problem than many think. So, what does it matter?

There are many symptoms of this strange illness, but are the most common:

Faces on the screen are stained, as if sunburned or a yellowish-brown glow on the shiny areas.
Bright areas on the screen are colored with a light yellow or brown.

Solarization: A phenomenon in photography, in which the image on a negative or aPhotographic printing is reversed in whole or in part in tone. (From Wikipedia)

Look at junk mail a color or color newspaper ad.
Look for an ad that a "sunburn" or sunburn shows effects on the persons face.
This is what you are looking for the solarizing effect is clearly evident on the faces.

The problem can be solved if you get a firmware update for the LCD HDTV or Plasma HDTV

A firmware update is a microcode update for the chipsinside your set.

You must contact your supplier or manufacturer for this update.

And you need to get their service agent for this contact, sometimes it is complex, and this depends on the brand.

As an example, but if you have a Samsung LCD or plasma HDTV, with some models can be updated, even!

What happens is that Samsung send a USB stick with the firmware, no, and follow the instructions:

You can flash itor update it yourself!
Unfortunately, this does not always solve the problem, Solarization, but it is definitely worth a try.
Sometimes it is the fault of the station or network sub-standard programming transmitted ... Quality control?

Once it is updated, you can be sure that your set is functioning as best they can ...

Something you may be able to do if you have not already purchased an LCD HDTV, or that Bargain Cheap LCD TV is to buy simply is not an amount thatexhibits this problem.

How?

A quick way to check the quality of an LCD display:

Go on a set that is on the screen to get up close and look straight up or down on screen
A good quality display will not change much, you will be no change in the quality of the image.
Cheap LCD TV with LCD display, which is susceptible to solarization, sees negative where the light parts of thethe picture go dark and the dark areas brighter go.
Or it will only lose color and image quality.

... If you really want to buy a cheap LCD TV, leave it there and look, are well out there ....

Unfortunately, with a plasma HDTV, it is more complicated.

You need a firmware update to try to correct the problem.

And it is a call for inclusion of your local plasma and LCD Service Center.

Think quote it, your brandand model number are these data on the back of the unit on a sticker.

And the date of purchase, if the TV is under warranty.

And it also helps if you Google.

You'll be surprised how many hits you get to a particular brand and model.
